Outreach into the community is a large part of our ministry at Augustana. We serve in several ways including: - Augustana Cornerstone Foundation is a ministry of our congregation that provides affordable low cost housing in our north Omaha community. The foundation purchases and renovates neighborhood houses to provide affordable homes to low-income families. For current ACF projects please visit there Web site and the link above.
- Our congregation is one of the active supporting members of Omaha Together One Community (OTOC).
- Augustana volunteers are greatly involved in Habitat for Humanity, both financially and physically. We have built many new homes over the years as a work of grace for those who could otherwise not afford the dignity of their own home. Augustana participates in the Habitat program through a coalition of Omaha churches that assists low-income families in obtaining affordable homes.
- Our congregation is involved in community ministry as contributors and volunteers with Project Hope, Together, Inc., and Lutheran Metro Ministries. Augustana also opens its doors to many groups needing our facility and support, including Bemis Park Neighborhood Association, Mid-America Wood Carvers, Nebraskans for Peace, and many other community groups.
