Where is Augustana located?
Augustana is on the corner of Lafayette Avenue and north 38th Street in the Bemis Park neighborhood. Our address is 3647 Lafayette Avenue.

What is your service time?
Sunday morning worship is at 10:30 am.

Do you have Sunday school opportunities for all ages?
Sunday school is available for for youth through 12th grade during the school year. There is also Adult Forum, which meets throughout the year.

What do you believe?
Lutherans believe that we are “saved by grace through faith.”

What is meant by "grace"?
Lutherans believe grace to be God’s free gift of love and favor given to all without merit and undeserved.

Who can receive Holy Communion at Augustana?
At Augustana, anyone who is repentant and baptized is welcome at the Lord’s Table.

What sets Augustana apart from other congregations?
We offer progressive Christianity in a traditional setting to the urban community. We value grace, justice and faith in action and we are passionate about thinking!

What is a "reconciling in Christ congregation"?
In the ELCA, a “Reconciling in Christ” congregation is one that is welcoming, affirming and supporting of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) believers.

What is the ELCA?
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is the largest Lutheran denomination in the United States and is made up of 10,585 congregations within 65 synods, or geographical districts. Our congregation is a part of the Nebraska Synod.

Tell me about Augustana's social outreach ministries.
Our congregation helps support several food pantry ministries in Omaha. We are regular contributors to local social ministry providers as well as national and international ministries supported by the ELCA. We are active in Omaha Habitat for Humanity work and have our own housing ministry, the Augustana Cornerstone Foundation. Our congregation also offers summer outreach to community children with the Project Embrace ministry.

How can I become a member?
In order to become a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, you are asked to speak with the pastor and participate in a new member class and orientation.
